
Counselor Requirements: e Be at least 21 years old (or 18 if highly recommended by church official) e Have the ability to provide leadership to campers e Have the desire and ability to work with children, youths and other adults e Exhibit behavior that is expected of a role model e Have the ability to share Christian faith and values e Exhibit enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control and flexibility e Have the ability to led Bible study, devotions and camp activities e Be responsible for the welfare of campers under your care e Have the ability to work well as part of a team e Be a confidant as well as an authority figure for the campers under your supervision e Have the ability to accept and provide supervision and guidance e Have no past moral or legal issues that conflict with or prohibit providing child care e Have previous camp experience or willingness to learn
Counselor Responsibilities: e Follow all camp rules and policies and enforce them with campers e Take part in activities with campers e Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment and facilities e Inform Camp Dean of any camper or staff problem e If any of the campers in your care go off campus, you must know where they are going e Should any of the campers under your supervision need to use the restroom after lights out, please escort them to and from the facilities for their safety e We ask that you be present during the entire camp; however, if an emergency requiring an early departure arises, you MUST speak to the Camp Dean prior to leaving so that we are aware of a need for a replacement e Provide feedback evolutions after camp
