Rev. Mike Rose- “If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat”
Ever had a time in your life when you felt Christ calling you to do something? Or maybe you were going through difficult and trying times, you know, when the ‘storms of life’ were raging and you didn’t know what to do or where to turn? Don’t feel alone. A long time ago, 12 men began to row across the Sea of Galilee and a fierce storm blew up in the middle of the night. In the midst of that storm, Jesus came walking on the water. One of the men- Peter- impetuously asked Jesus if he could come out on the water with him. And Jesus said “Come.”
The morning seminar will be a wonderful journey of faith in learning to trust God when the storms of life blow. The series “If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat” was created by John Ortberg of Willowcreek Ministries and has been facilitated by Mike Rose many times. Each day will bring about a different topic and will encourage the participants to develop a closer and more trusting relationship with the One who calls us out onto the water. The seminar will include a participant’s guide and the book “If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat”, which can be read in the peaceful surroundings of Forest Park. Evening worship and sermons will structure around the topic discussed in the morning seminar.
